The Internet is what is used by the Earth to comminucate with those around us; it is a public communications medium. The Internet was evolved to what it is today because of its adaptability, scalability, and its ability to integrate diversity/incorporate new networks. The Internet can be used to connect the information you collect from the Web, which is used to access data. It can also be used as a research tool to gain knowledge on a particular topic. Most importantly, the nternet allows humans to connect to other humans without having to meet face-to-face! With its advancements today, the Internet allows users to talk to people they have never met/may never meet in real life, keep loved ones conencted across the globe, and find friendships that could not be made without it. It is important to keep in mind though, that the Internet is not a safe place, and that it has its dark side as well, where information can be leaked, viruses can be contacted, and much more. To me, the Internet has allowed me to stay connected to my friends that I made at UCLA. Because of the pandemic, it is almost impossible for friends to meet up, as my peers live around the globe. With new online games, it is the highlight of my day after classes and errands to hear their voices, chat, and play games. I also use the Internet a lot to share my artwork on social media, where I also get to see beautiful pieces from artists all around the world. We are able to connect with our similar passions, give each other support and feedback, and share their work on out own social media platforms as well.
